Our Electrophoresis Finish Services
Provide uniform coating thickness (10-30μm) with 98% edge coverage for metal components. Our automated cathodic electrophoresis line achieves ≤5μm thickness variation, offering corrosion resistance up to 1000+ salt spray hours (ASTM B117).
What is Electrophoresis Finish?
An electrochemical deposition process where:
1.Charged paint particles (20-50nm) migrate in DC field (50-400V)
2.Components become deposition electrodes (cathode/anode)
3.Cured films form cross-linked polymer networks
Key characteristics:
Process types: Cathodic (CED) or anodic (AED)
Curing: 160-200°C for 20-40 minutes
Film properties: 3-8H pencil hardness (ASTM D3363)

Electrophoretic Advantages
- Superior Coverage - Reaches recessed areas inaccessible to spray
- Environmental Safety - 85%+ paint utilization (vs. 40-60% spraying)
- Corrosion Resistance - 5-8x better than powder coating
- Cost Efficiency - 30% lower material consumption than wet painting
- Adhesion Strength - 5B rating (ASTM D3359) after 1000hr humidity test
Notes
- Minimum part size: 50×50mm
- Pre-treatment required: Phosphating or chromating
- Not suitable for: Non-conductive materials, temperature-sensitive parts
Electrophoretic Applications
- Automotive: Chassis components, brake calipers, suspension parts
- Industrial: Agricultural machinery, hydraulic cylinders
- Electrical: Transformer housings, motor casings
- Consumer: Appliance frames, bicycle components
- Hardware: Fasteners, brackets, structural connectors
